Sly Bros Semi II, Manly

In this very house, life saving in Australia was born. The home was originally owned by the Sly Brothers, fishermen who pioneered Australian Surf Life Saving at Manly Beach. Some 100 years later, this heritage timber cottage in the heart of Manly, received a well deserved renovation.

Architect: Archisoul Architects

This project involved two semi renovations carried out simultaneously for two separate owners. Although looking seemingly the same on the outside from the street, the inside tells a very different story.

Archisoul took the opportunity to engage with the building’s history to add texture and warmth, while integrating a light-filled, warm, inviting, contemporary home.

The result is an Australian beachside home in the spirit of European sophistication and comfort.
