Sly Bros Semi I, Manly
Once upon a time, two fishermen owned this humble, now heritage, timber cottage. From this house, life saving in Australia was born. The original home of the Sly Brothers, the pioneers of Australian Surf Life Saving at Manly Beach, more than 100 years on this cottage in the heart of Manly received a well deserved renovation, along with her sister semi; Darley Road II.

“The brief was simple; create a spacious family home & future investment property in the heart of Manly, NSW.
Like all simple things in life it is the complexities behind them that drive the outcome.
With a heritage listed site measuring less than 200m2, multiple neighbours, a shared laneway and an agreement to design & build simultaneously with the adjoining neighbour, this project set a challenge. This challenge was not only in design but also in logistics, timing, project management and collective focus on the common goal.”
